Abstract

This article offers a comparative analysis of Gilles Deleuze’s concepts—Becoming, Body without Organs, Rhizome, and Time Crystal—in Biodanza and AI-generated dance. Biodanza emphasizes lived experience, spontaneous movement, and human interaction, embodying Becoming as an internal, fluid process. The body functions as a dynamic, multicentric, non-linear network. Conversely, AI-based dance generates movement through computational systems, translating Deleuzian ideas into structured, data-driven processes, typically resulting in a digital or virtual body lacking conscious experience. While Biodanza supports therapeutic outcomes through presence and interpersonal connection, AI-driven dance raises questions about its therapeutic limits. The study proposes integrating both approaches to develop hybrid performances combining human improvisation with AI-generated movement. Although AI cannot replicate Biodanza’s embodied therapy, it offers novel stimuli and interactive possibilities, advancing artistic innovation and therapeutic methodologies in the performing arts.
